Application Requirements

1. Cover Letter: Introduce yourself and your work like you’re writing to a real human who will be connecting with it.

   Dispense with formalities.

   Let us know how you’ll use the residency and what would be most supportive for you in your practice. Be honest. If it’s dedicated focus time, great. If it’s time to rest, great. If you don’t know yet, cool. If you just want to hide away and read books for a month – you’re in the right place. It’s ok if this changes.

2. Medium Sample: Please send up to 10 pages of your best work. This does not have to be the medium you will be working in at the residency.
   
   Any work past the 10th page will not be considered.
   
   NOTE: Make sure your name does not show up anywhere in your medium sample. Submission quality is our primary consideration when accepting applications.

Application Fees

Your application fee directly supports our operational costs and our ability to keep costs as low as possible for chosen residents.

1. Standard Tier: $20
2. Feedback Tier: $50
   As artists, we know how demoralizing it can be to send your work into an empty void.
   
   This tier ensures that you receive thoughtful feedback on your submission from human readers who engage with your work with care and intention. If you opt in, you may include a brief note in your work sample about the aspects of your work you’d like us to focus on. This tier is entirely optional and has no impact on selection decisions.
