Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring with me?
This is a deep woods experience so bring a flashlight, good walking shoes and such. All meals are provided but feel free to bring personal snacks. Many arts and crafts materials are available to you but be sure to bring your own essential art materials.
To maintain the tranquility of the space, there are no firearms and no motorized off-road vehicles allowed.
Can I bring my camper or van or RV?
Vans are welcome. Long RVs can be problematic. The U-Turn in the gravel driveway is a doozy. A couple of spaces are available with water and electrical hookups.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted inside the Nook of the Woods Inn. Well behaved pets are sometimes allowed, with pre-approval, at the campground or if content to stay outside, if you are staying at the Nook.
What's the nearest airport?
Greensboro, NC (GSO) and Charlotte, NC (CLT) are both 1 1/2 hours’ drive away. There is a once daily bus from Greensboro to Wilkesboro where we can then bring you to the Nook. Uber from either airport to the Nook is generally $80-$100.
Is there a certain time I should check in?
Yes, please try to check in after 11am and before dark. The gravel driveway is a lot easier to navigate when you have daylight.
What is cell/internet service like out there?
Cell service can be quite spotty but wifi calling is available with high speed fiber optic wifi at the Nook and other buildings on the property.
Can a group arrange a stay here?
Yeah, definitely! Reach out and let us work it out with you!
Can I teach a class here?
Yes! We host classes of all sorts. The Nook can house up to 14 and many more can be accommodated in other available bedrooms on the property. Also numerous camping options are available. Reach out to us and see if this is the place for you to host your class or workshop.
Can kids stay here?
Yes, of course! Kids are welcome with guardian. Kids under 6 years old stay for free!
